ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΤΙΚΟ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ ΚΕΡΑΜΙΚΗΣ – Despoina Xenaki • Ceramic | Art & Design
clay-play-2

The aim of the specific program is through the students' visit to our place to gain a global view of art, the importance of Ceramics and most importantly to create their own object.

Both their engagement with clay and the information they will get will perhaps be key tools for the development of their creative thinking, the enrichment of their knowledge in relation to its historical and cultural value as well as its important role in the modern world .

.At this age, where the child is "formed" and shapes his character, participation in such a creative activity contributes significantly to development of his social-communication skills (teamwork - cooperation) and of course in the cultivation of his personality.

Our workshop hours will be full creation, knowledge, imagination and play, offering the child the opportunity to get in touch with himself and the group.

ANALYTICAL PROGRAM

Tour of the showroom
Tour of the showroom. Tour of our showroom and discussion about clay and its possibilities. We will focus on historical evidence and its uses at all levels, from the first societies to the present day.

Tour of the laboratory area
First we will get to know the basic tools of a ceramist as well as the basic equipment of a workshop (baking oven, wheel, sculpture tools, etc.). At the same time, we are informed about the process required until we get our hands on the ceramic and the tour ends with the teacher making an object on the wheel

Pottery course
With the guidance of the teaching professors, the students will move to the workbenches, where they will come into contact with the clay. They will have the opportunity to choose one of the projects that will be given to them, such as making a mug, plate or bowl, but also the possibility of making an object* of their choice.

Close program
After the clay lesson is finished, there will be a short discussion with the students, in order for them to express their impressions, questions and thoughts about what they attended.

*The objects that the students will create after they are baked will be sent to the school or to the place indicated to us so that each student can receive them.
